Hi, I'm Shraddha. Welcome to my little corner of the internet.

I am a visual artist based in BC, Canada. All the work you see here comes from a tiny apartment studio that has quietly become one of the most meaningful spaces in my life.

My path to fine art was not a straight one. I started as a digital artist, formally studied Visual Art in Toronto in 2012, and spent several years working professionally in graphic design and digital art. Fine art stayed quietly in the background the whole time, showing up in sketchbooks and side projects, waiting for its turn.

In 2024, things took a little pause. A steady career took a little hit and in that same tender window of time, I lost my beloved dad. Grief has a way of stripping things back to what actually matters. For me, that was painting. The kindest humans around me made it possible in the most literal sense. They showed up with paints, canvases, and tripods, and quietly told me to keep going. Everything you see here exists only because of them.

About My Work

My work is rooted in oil paint, a medium I came to late but fell for completely. I build each piece digitally first, drawing on years of training in composition and color, and then bring it to canvas where oil paints, drawing oils, and pigment sticks take over. That is where the real work happens. The layering, the scraping back, the slow process of finding what the painting wants to be.

What ends up on the canvas is usually a whimsical, slightly surreal creature navigating a very ordinary human moment. A quiet evening. A small errand. A Tuesday that feels heavier than it should. I paint these because I believe the unremarkable moments of life are worth celebrating. They are where most of us actually live.
